Hi all, Whilst walking around the Queens Park Golf Course (Highton, Geelong) today, I found a White Goshawk which had died, under a Euc. maculata on one of the fairways. Although it showed no visable signs of injury, it was very thin - almost emaciated. Although sad that it had died, it was a great opportunity to have a close look at this raptor. Opening the wings, feeling the softness of the feathers, examining the talons, etc., etc., it was a great experience. (I know it sounds a bit corny, but it just seems to help ones appreciation of all things feathered !) Cheers, Richard Dilena Ocean Grove, Victoria, Australia |
