Following Richard Loyn's little message about the Letter-winged Kite west of the town of Werribee (not the famous Sewage Treatment Works), I went to the accurately described place this morning, Sunday. I was surprised that there was not a crowd of twitchers to rival those experienced at Boort looking for the Redshank. In fact I was the only one there. I clicked up the 4.5 km, as described and saw a lightish bird hunched up in a tree and thought this must be it. It was a Barn Owl,a nice consolation prize, since I do not see them often, but a disappointment. Did anyone else see it? Regards, Gil Langfield Regards, Gil Langfield Melbourne, Australia |
