Fiordland crested penguin Not a difficult species really, but all
birds seemed to have left their breeding grounds already.
Kakapo On Little Barrier Island we were able to see a wild, booming, bird
in real time on a TV monitor. This is probably as close as you can get to a
wild kakapo. Not good enough for a tick though...
