Greetings to all at Birding-Aus For the past six years i have been helping to plant native trees and shrubs in the Port Philip area-mainly in my case along the railway line near Balaclava station. The results are very gratifying and birds are being attracted to the area.I recognise many honeyeaters, wattlebirds, magpies etc., and hear the sounds of others. One bird has a small kooka type head, dark grey to black plumage on the back and dirty white plumage underneath. It has a beautiful carol and I'm sure someone can help me to identify it.I have seen several families at the St.Kilda Botanical gardens (to which I am a plants donor)among the numerous birds that come to the gardens. Thank you for an interesting and informative group Charles Tolson ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com |
