Hello all, Spring has come at last, and in a rush. We had our first Shining Bronze-Cuckoo last Wednesday, our first Channel-billed Cuckoos (4 of them) on Friday and the first White-throated Gerygone and Rufous Whistler on Sunday. I promised some people I would try to get a photo of a Yellow-rumped Thornbill swinging upside down on our fence. After nesting in a tree in our yard for four years running they have decided to nest in a different tree, about 50 metres away, this year. So far I have not seen them swinging but will continue to look for it. Meanwhile, Buff-rumped Thornbills have started nesting in the tree vacated by the Y-r Ts, they don't appear to share the acrobatic behaviour of their cousins.
