At the risk of being considered over-protective of my profession, just a short note to Mr WM James Davis and others who may have been watching too many American films. Alexandra described her friend who was concerned about owl-kills as someone who drove freight trains which makes him an engine driver in Australia, not an engineer. My grandfather drove the 38-class locomotives from Sydney to Newcastle and was an engine driver. I design, fabricate, construct and manage structures and therefore am an engineer.
