My wife and I spent the long weekend at the Warrumbungles National Park
(near Coonabarrabran, NSW). The weather and scenery were both superb;
the parrots, although numerous and attractive, were not Superb. We had
seen Superb Parrots on our last visit here (May '94) so were hopeful,
nevertheless, the birding was quite good, with fair numbers of Turquoise
Parrots (~15-20) about. Other highlights were Painted Button-Quail and a
male Rose Robin. Full list follows:
