What a great way to return from Australia. This is an addition to my 25Mar97
daily log.

I finally identified a Great Black-backed Gull out on the ice with thousands
of herring gulls. They are here every year as the ice breaks up. As I
observed the gulls, a beautiful fox, brilliant red front half and completely
grey back half with four grey legs, walk past our frozen pier and out to take
some fish from the gulls. He passed too close to a bald eagle which flew up
and the fox left the area.
