This news comes courtesy of ABC Radio's Newslink at http://www.abc.net.au/news/ Conservationists in Tasmania are seeking legal advice in their attempts to lease duck-hides at Moulting Lagoon on the state's East Coast. The Tasmanian Duck Protection Association says its application to lease the hides as a base for protest action, during next month's shooting season, has been rejected. The group's Bob Reip says the Department of Environment and Land Management has discriminated against conservationists. ********************************** One wonders if it would be possible for non-shooters to lease ALL the hides. Would that prevent hunting at the site? Russell Woodford Geelong, Victoria |
