I saw PBDs in the surf at Ned's Beach on Lord Howe Island when I was there two Octobers ago. Ned's is where the fish feeding takes place and I guess the ducks had worked out that food was to be had there. There were some rather big fish there, but I noticed that the ducks still had all their feet!! It was rather strange sunbaking on the beach and have a Pacific Black Duck walk by, instead of a seagull. Irene Denton Sydney NSW |
