OK  - this is a good chance to do some listing on the list.

What ducks (and geese and swans) have our readers seen in the surf?

I'll add Black Swan, and I've also seen PBD off Lorne.
Also Chestnut Teal I think, but someone else can verify that one.

Note that we're talking SURF rather than bays.

The N Hemisphere is a bit easier for sea-faring ducks.  I know I've
spotted Common Scoter, Velvet Scoter (but not the appropriately named Surf
Scoter) and Eider at sea, as well as Brent Geese and some of the Aythya
group (can't remember which).  Come on all you Poms, give us a long list
of surfing ducks.
