In the sundarbans (mangroves) of what was once East Pakistan they tackled
the problem of man-eating tigers which would invariably attack from behind
by getting people to wear a mask with a human face drawn on it, moustache
and all. I believe the practice of putting eyes at the back of the head
with regards to magpie attacks originated from this experience but it
seems to have met with limited success. Perhaps a more life-like mask would
do the trick.
