Just to add my $0.02 worth, since we're talking economics, what the 'man in the street' (and the women too) has got to be made to realise is that without forests it's not just the birds, insects and other lifeforms that die, we do too! Things are already out of balance, possibly irretrievably so. When I rule the world people will not be allowed to kill a tree that they haven't grown themselves. Mind you I work for a company that makes most of its money digging up rocks and selling them and I'm using their computer and Internet access to send this message.
