Russell, I wouldn't be so optimistic about the preservation of mangroves during the building of the resort. I have seen photos of the local people chopping down mangroves on the site after the order to stop work on the project had been handed down. From the road, one can see clear across the site to the water without any mangroves obstructing the view. It's got to be one of the most stupid sites for a resort anywhere. If/when it gets built the guests will have to put up with noise from the adjacent railway track and highway, and the beautiful sulphurous mangrove mud smell from the mangroves, not to mention the resident hordes of mosquitoes.
