Re Bronzewings: Deakin University (Geelong) has Bronzewings that trot around the lawns - or really, the tend to sit still a lot under shady trees on the lawn. Re Songlark: There have been a number of reports of birds 'bothering' a fallen comrade. One I heard (here? on ABC radio?) was of New Holland Honeyeaters pecking a memebr of their flock that had flown into a window. After a while the bird regained consciousness (or the ability to move) and flew off with the others. Perhaps the Songlark was trying to get its partner 'up and going'.
