[ts-7000] Problem in connecting TS-7350 with PC

I have just bought TS-7350 and followed the manual to connect it with PC.
I have virtualbox having Debian.
What exactly i m doing is that i have connected the TS-9445 with TS-7350 using 
JTAG header. Moreover i have connected the console 10 pin header of TS-9445 
with USB to serial Converter and this converter is going to USB of PC.
when i configure minicom with the configuration as described in the manual, all 
i get is that "TERMINAL READY" and nothing else is displayed.
The manual says that booting messages will be displayed after 1.24 seconds but 
i am getting nothing.

Is there any mistake in my procedure?
it would be really helpful if someone would provide the video tutorial of 
connecting it with PC
