[ts-7000] RS-485 full duplex sending and not recieving

hello 

i have a TS-7200 on which i have the COM2 port set to Full duplex

if i login to ts-7200 and do 
echo uuuu > /dev/ttyAM1 (which is COM2 )

and open a minicom on my laptop listening to /dev/ttyUSB1 ( my 485 to usb )

i get uuuu on the minicom

now if i open minicom on ts-7200 and listen to /dev/ttyAM1 (which is COM2 )

and go to my laptop and do

echo uuuu > /dev/ttyUSB1 ( my 485 to usb )

i get nothing on the minicom on the ts-7200



anyone has any idea why i cant recieve on my COM2 port ?
it is FULL DUPLEX meaning it can transmit and recieve data at the same time
