The card runs linux - which is a variant of unix. The whole point of
running a standard operating system, is make the interfaces standard. That
means that code written once for linux/unix is usable on most linux/unix
implementations.
There are many good books on the subject and there are literally thousands
of websites offering advice/tutorials/help on network programming for
linux/unix. Google is your friend.
Also there are many programs already written that can do this.
You may not have to write anything, but we really do not know anything
about what you wish to achieve as the description is far too vague and
general.
Go do some of your own research. Learna bit first then ask more specific
questions.
