Firstly the TS7800 only comes with one ethernet port and you have defined two.
Change the file to ...

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0
#iface eth0 inet dhcp
iface eth0 inet static
        address 192.168.1.50
        network 192.168.1.0
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        broadcast 192.168.1.255
        gateway 192.168.1.1

Then you will need to do an "ifup eth0" to bring up the port, assuming that
you've done an "ifdown eth0" before changing the file.
Make sure you "sync" to be certain that the file is written to its storage.

If you are on a 192.168.1.x subnet then you should be able to ping the TS7800.
