Could it be possible that the boards are locking up at boot, before the watchdog timer is initialized? On 10/23/2011 9:25 AM, naturalwatt wrote: Hi. We have several dozen TS7250, and several hundred TS7550 deployed around the UK. Despite the presence on both boards of watchdog timers, some units sometimes lock up and have to be power cycled. This is pretty rare, and not reproducible in the workshop, but a real nuisance none the less. Most boards run for years, others lock up every few weeks. Do others have the same experience? Is it likely to be due to noise on the mains? Why doesn't the watchdog operate as it should? Is a cheap surge-suppression filter socket likely to help? Should I implement my own watchdog using a PIC and a spare DIO line? Is this likely to be more reliable than the onboard watchdog? Los of questions! Martin
