you may have to unzip it fi8rst From: mtrav100 <> To: Sent: Monday, August 8, 2011 3:38 PM Subject: [ts-7000] Re: Loading Debian Lenny onto micro SD card for ts-7500 Ok, so I have downloaded and extracted newest image off the website. The file is called "2gbsd-noeclipse-latest.dd"; its about 128MB. I am running ubuntu (10.04 LTS) out of a VMware player virtual machine. Here is what i have currently in the terminal.
:/home/mtravis# dd if=/home/mtravis/Desktop/2gbsd-noeclipse-latest.dd of=/dev/sdb It has been processing the command some time now. Walter, you say it has to burn the whole 2GB even though the image i downloaded is only 128MB correct? If this is the case, i expect it to take some time... Once the image is burned, I should be able to connect to the 7500 sbc using a telnet connection, and upon entering the command "exit" it will attempt to boot from the SD card. From there, i should have access to the full debian distro (with the GCC compiler), correct? Thank you guys for all your help, this is a learning experience for me so thanks for teaching! __._,_.___
