This is generic Ethernet advice. It may not actually apply to the 7800. On many
machines, you can remotely boot the computer even though it is "completely"
turned off. They do this by keeping power on the Ethernet mac and low-level
interface. It's looking for a magic packet, specific to that machine. When it
sees the packet, it tells the machine to boot up. There's probably a way to
turn this feature off, but unless you're looking for extreme power savings,
don't worry about it. Your CPU is actually powered down even though the
Ethernet interface has power.

Subject: [ts-7000] ts7800 doesn't full shutdown with 'poweroff'
Hi all,
I have a problem here: when I issue the 'poweroff' command on ts7800, it
doesn't fully shut the box down. The power LED is still lit and the
ethernet LED is still blinking afterwards.
Anybody know why?
Thanks,
