I worked through this and was not able figure out how to disable it.
However, you can set the timeout very low and reduce the attempts count to minimize the delay to a second or two.

This is a very common complaint and is nothing to do with the TS7500. When you connect to the board, the telnet daemon tries to find a DNS name for the incoming IP address. If you don't have DNS configured, it will take that long to give up.

So setup the /etc/resolv.conf file.
