I'm with a new startup that's building a system for homes that has a
controller that uses both WiFi and ZigBee (but not simultaneously) and
custom sensors that use ZigBee. Technologic Systems recommended the
TS-7553, which meets all of our requirements. I have many years of
software development experience, but I'm relatively new to embedded
systems, and in particular I've never worked with ZigBee technology
before. So I'm hazy on what my best options are for the wireless
radios. I know Digi makes XBee and XBee-PRO modules with various
antennae. I'd greatly appreciate any advice on how to choose the right
hardware, as well as any gotchas to watch out for. I imagine we'd use
the same radio for controller and sensors. Also, I see that the TS-7553
photos show an Asus USB WiFi adaptor, so I'm thinking the Asus USB-N10
is a good choice. But I'd appreciate any advice. Finally, will I have
any issues getting support libraries for the wireless components?
