When I attempted to FTP my WiFi-Box-2 with Filezilla on a Windows Vista PC
(username=root, password=) I got a "ECONREFUSED" error ..apparently because
/etc/ftpusers lists "root" as "users disallowed ftp access".
A subsequent attempt to FTP to the WiFi-Box-2, after commenting out "root" in
/etc/ftpusers and rebooting Debian failed:
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220 ts7500 FTP server (Version 6.4/OpenBSD/Linux-ftpd-0.17)
ready.
Command: USER root
Response: 331 Password required for root.
Command: PASS
Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server
It is as if the WiFi-Box-2 was unhappy with an empty password.
I should mention that "inetd" appeared to be running (listed by ps) and I can
happily ping the WiFi-Box-2 from PCs on the LAN.
Could I ask someone to explain how I can ftp to the WiFi-Box-2?
Thanks,
Bob Furber
