You can use fdisk to expand the partition.  After expanding the
partition, you can expand the actual filesystem.  If its JFS, you can
expand the filesystem with the mount command, such as: 
# mount -o remount,resize /mnt/sd
Make sure the card is not mounted before playing with the partitions and
filesystems.  This will give you more information:

Or you can use something like GParted: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/

As a backup solution, since my micro-SD port seems broken, I would like
to use my 16GB micro-SD card through its SD adapter as boot source.
Cloning the 2GB on it works but I would like to take advantage of the
full size of the card.

How can I expand the Debian partition to the full size of the card?
