check dmesg log after this occurs. There's a good chance you have a corrupt or invalid partition, and the file system is trying to write to an invalid space on the drive, is unable to do so, and switches to read only.
Or, it could be a number of bad sectors / blocks causing the same switch to read only. dmesg should help you in either case. __._,_.___
