Simples, leave the USB drive detect feature in place, insert a script on
the drive that calls /bin/sh, if that usb stick is inserted at boot time
it'll fire up a sh session, you could then optionally telnet in on a
given ip (192.168.0.50 ?) and "fix stuff".
That's how I'd do it, but what do I know ?
