Have a look at http://www.embeddedarm.com/about/resource.php?item=437#section3.2
for a pinout of the db-9 (if its the same as the 7552) which has multiple ports 
multiplexed through it. Looks like XUART0 is pinned out as a minimal rs232 
(pins 2,3,5) , but you may have to enable it with the xuartctl commands see 
sections 3.1.7 and 2.8.6 of that TS-75xx/7s-4500 guide.
