I had the same problem. I was never sure whether it was a timing issue
with the Sata drive starting up after a reset or what. I did verify
that the modules were loaded, but they still reported the Sata drive as
not there. My solution was to put a command later on in the RC script
that mounted the drives. Therefore the process was, try to mount with
the built-in part of the startup script, fail, and then later try again
and it works. Therefore I get an automatically mounted drive, but I
have to try twice. And I have to say that it still only works most of
the time, on occasion it takes three attempts. So given that this is
just a work around, if anyone has a definitive answer as to what the
basic problem is I would like to hear it too.
