It means someone has set the DDR bit for the ethernet power control bit in 
porth to 0 - i.e. an input bit. So I suspect some code you've run has 
messed with it. Currently cctl assumes bit 2 of porth is set to an output, 
if not it assumes an error.

I'm assuming the ethernet is not powered off?
