[ts-7000] best way to get filesystem from nfs onto card/flash for ts7800

I've been using an nfs share filesystem for development on a ts7800 board and 
am ready to move to a more permanent setup on the flash or an sd card.  What's 
the best way to go about this?  The createmtdroot command seems to be only for 
copying from a card, so I need to get it onto a card?  I've had a terrible time 
trying to use the card images on the ftp site, so would really like an 
alternative.  Thanks
