[ts-7000] Error Communicating with AVR on TS-732

I'm trying to use the ts732 program to communicate with the TS-732 board 
attached to my TS-7300.  My understanding is that all I should have to do is 
load the serial module (insmod tsuart-732) and it should work.  When trying to 
use the ts732 program, I get an error:

:root# ts732 --help
Failed to communicate with AVR

It doesn't matter what options I pass to the program.  Is there something else 
necessary to talk to the 732 board?
