Although this isn't going to be any comfort or help, I quite often connect the
power the wrong way round to TS7250 and they always survive.
Did you apply the power directly to the board or via the TS-722 header board
that comes with the enclosure? It might be that the reverse polarity
protection is on the TS-722 and not on the main motherboard.
Looking at the schematic, there's a 3.3V regulator (U3) but no obvious reverse
polarity protection diodes. If it looks like toast and smells like toast, it
probably is toast.
