Hi,
I have the TS-7260 board. Up to now, I have booted Debian Linux from the
SD-512-7300 that I bought with the board. The SD-512-7300 has only 512MB, and I
need to work with larger SD cards from.
So I want to create a 2GB SD card like the SD-512-7300.
Description SD-512-7300 component: TS-7300 bootable 512 MB SD card
pre-installed with Debian Linux for ARM and full tool chain (supports TS-7260,
TS-7300, TS-7400) (requires OP-SDSOCKET option to be checked)
I have done the following steps without obtaining a good result:
1. Download the fast boot SD Card image: "sdimage.dd.bz2" to my laptop.
2. Extract the new SD Card image file in my laptop:
:/home/ismael# bunzip2 sdimage.dd.bz2
3. Connect a SD reader to my laptop. Using an SD Card reader and the "dd"
utility, copy the image to the disc device of the 2GB SD Card:
:/home/ismael# dd if=sdimage.dd of=/dev/sdc1
487936+0 registros de entrada
487936+0 registros de salida
249823232 bytes (250 MB) copiados, 12,3076 s, 20,3 MB/s
4. But if I list the files that are in the SD card:
:/home/ismael# ls /media/disk/

QUESTION 1: The files that I have in the 2GB SD card have any sense for you? Am
I doing something wrong?
QUESTION 2: How can I install the Debian Linux on a 2GB SD card in order to
boot from this new SD card? Please, if it is possible, explain me step by step.
QUESTION 3: Can I work with SD cards larger than 512MB? Are there any limit in
the size of the SD cards?
Thanks,
Ismael
