The AC relays will take conventional AC loads up to 2 or 3 amps, no need for transformer or power conversion to switch small output loads like lights or light appliances; - Inputs can be AC or DC, so a switch closure, or even a household motion detector AC switch could be used as input. Temperature or other analog measurements would have to be done interfacing thermocouple inputs to the ADC inputs. I think some examples are given on the FTP site. There are also digital thermostats available for temp control via SBC. Check with the smarthome.com site for home control interfaces.
