Basic answer is look up the doc for redboot rather than relying on titbits
quoted in the TS doc.
Yes you need to use the load command first , then you have something to save.
More importantly you probably want to load your new kernel via ftp/http using
load command and make sure things run as you expect. Actually comitting it to
fis will come (a lot) later.
If you start comitting radical changes like that before you understand what
you're doing, you'll almost certainly end up in a knot in no time at all.
