We're not using it in the comparison test, but we may need it for the product because without it the readings are significantly different than what the precision power supply is providing (and voltmeter is reading).  When their test programs (which use it) run under DOS or linux on x86, the readings are spot-on.  Without activating that feature, they start (and drift) off noticeably.  But that's not the issue I was asking about.

I don't know, but I will suggest that test to the guy working on the code.

Don't apologize!  You have some good ideas, if only I can get the guy working on the thing to try them out.  I'm still working on it.

You may be correct on that.  I know from experience that we've spent much more time struggling with the TS-7250 (on an earlier project) and now the TS-7800 than we should've done.  Much of that was/is due to our unfamiliarity with the ARM architecture, but some was due to hardware and driver issues from the 7250/7800 (which are usually fixed by Technologic, but only after we spend a month or so proving that it is their hardware/software that is wrong).  So we have a definite b ias because what takes us a couple days to create and get working on an x86 system typically takes months and never works quite as well on the ARM.  I'm sure it could be better if we had gobs of time to devote to becoming ARM (and EABI) experts, but we don't.  We bought a product that said it ran linux and had a PC-104 interface, assuming all we needed to add was code.  Instead it seems we might need to build and/or install a different version of the OS (already done once, BTW) in order to get the features necessary to work as we thought the product was advertised to do off the shelf.  We must also be trained for EABI and probably learn more deeply about programming on the ARM, too.  That's not always an easy task for people as stuck in their ways as we are.  After all, I've been doing this for 25 years, the hardware programmer has been doing it for at least 30 and the guy designing the hardware interface circuit/board has been doing hardw are for almost 40 years.

I sure hope that we will or (for example) the thermocouples we need to read will only be accurate to +/- 2.5 DegC rather than the 0.5 expected by the customer.

Thanks again for your time and effort!
