I'm in the same boat with a 7260.  I'm hoping to get the sub-two-second booting 
thing worked out.

One thing I did find is that I could start my app before a lot of the 
networking stuff was launched and that shaved 5 seconds off my boot time.  I 
just put a script before the other rc3 scripts.
