Hi Paul, Nope, no usb hubs involved. Plugged directly into one of the USB ports. I must also mention that it is not just a problem with the serial converter. I have a ELMScan USB (http://www.scantool.net/scan-tools/elmscan-5-usb.html). I seem to miss an important character from this, the final > character.
