Check the signals with an oscilloscope.
Put the baud rate to something slow, and then
type in some characters with known patterns,
eg. 0x55, 0x66, 0x99. Look on an ascii table
to see which characters generate those patterns
(I think 'a' or 'A' is 0x55). Anyway, Google
will tell you.
