Hi all,
I am running a TS7800 board. I have had issues with the SD card drivers (it
seems I am not the only one). After several days of writing to the SD card, the
SD card locks up and I can no longer write any data to it, until I reboot or
remove and re-insert the kernel module (tssdcard.ko). I was using the ext3
filesystem oon the SD card (I read about the issues regarding lockups using
JFS).
We are currently using a USB drive for data storage as a stop-gap for our
system. But, we would like to go back to using SD. USB (with ext2/3) does not
seem to recover from power-loss consistently.
My question is, can we write to the SD card using a different interface or
different driver (SPI mode, MMC)? OR, can we use a MMC card with mmc drivers?
One of the engineers at TS told me that he did some long-term testing of the SD
card drivers but wrote to the SD card using some lower level method that did
not go through the file system. Maybe that engineer could respond here and let
us know what those tests consisted of?
Thanks,
Rob
