What? I see some of the x86 general support pages are still 'under
construction', but at least there is a 41 page User Manual and other
docs here:
http://www.embeddedarm.com/products/board-detail.php?product=TS-5600#

Is TS-dev-cd-v1.0.2.img an image for the compact flash, or is it an
iso image? If it is for a compact flash card, just install it on a CF
card and then mount the card under your desktop linux system.

I suggest you try to get a good book like "Building Embedded Linux
Systems" by Yaghmour.

Also, I read that the TS x86 linux image is built using 'linux from
scratch'. You could look into that, and build your own image with
just what you need:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/
