Did you pass the right -march= option when you compiled?  TS-72xx is
ARMv4t, while TS-78xx is ARMv5t.  ARMv4t code should run on ARMv5t,
but not the other way around.

I have used the codesourcery toolchains with good results (EABI,
self-compiled 2.6 EABI kernel, prebuilt ARMEL rootfs)
