Because is not so simple as compile a i386 kernel, a evbarm kernel compilation is special for embedded systems, is a gzipped kernel (compressed) and must be install on flash rom (32MG) while the OS is available on Compact Flash (1GB).
I know FreeBSD and I use FreeBSD 7.0 on my laptop, I reconfigure kernel to resolve several problems, but never could compile a reduced NetBSD kernel for TS-7200. The newest releases about NetBSD (NetBSD 4.x) simply is not function in my TS-7200. Only I can run a NetBSD 3.1 embedded gzipped kernel image, so I need a insecure gzipped imagen with NetBSD 3.1 for TS-7200.

I'm not really that familliar with NetBSD, not sure if the build system
is similar to FreeBSD, but in FBSD you could build from a PC host _very_
easilly. Why not just compile your own kernel.
