Hi,
I have the exact same camera and configuration than you.
I did the exact same steps as you but no /dev/video0 was created when
the camera was recognized.
So I created it manually with : mknod /dev/video0 c 81 0
which worked.
But then when i try to capture a picture using : vgrabbj -d
/dev/video0 -f /tmp/test.jpg, the command hangs forever and although
the machine itself is still working, I'm unable to shutdown the
machine with halt or shutdown or reboot.
Is there something to fix this so vgrabbj works fine and so I can take
snapshots with my webcam?

Thank you
