The problem is that you cannot use such a long cable with a passively
driven keypad. Do not go over 1-2 feet for reliable results. The keypad
is supposed to be *very* close to the TS7000.
If you need to move the keypad far away from the TS you should better
consider implementing the keypad scanning code in a microcontroller and
connect it to the TS through a serial port.
Or find the way to have the TS close to the keypad...
I guess that you will also want to have an LCD next to them, and the
LCD does not like long cables either(not longer than 6 inches).
It is not a matter of the kind of cable you are using. It is a matter
of signal propagation and no cable will work reliably for your lengths.
