An IP camera puts no load on the CPU.... The camera acts as a web
server, and you go out and grab images. There's typically also a port
that will stream mjpeg images. The web interface lets you configure
the camera.
So you get a mjpeg stream in the ethernet port. The only cpu load is
whatever processes the images.
A decent IP camera will cost $75 - $100 and it will add another wall
wart....
