That's why we're also testing with a PFM-540I from EMAC, Inc. (http://www.emacinc.com ): That card not only comes with linux pre-installed, but they included the RTAI extension (which we used on a project several years ago) that provides real time stuff for linux. Beyond that, their board uses an x86-based processor. The potential drawback is that the processor is a Geode and we had significant problems with the Geode (or more likely the supporting chipset on the previous Geode board we tested) in the past. Also, at the moment, the board he have refuses to boot without a VGA attached, which is kinda silly for something that will be in a closed cabinet in a basement... Whichever one (TS-7800 or PFM-540I) we manage to get working correctly first will be used for all of the devices in the job we're working on. __._,_.___
