One last question on this if you don't mind.
I am an old Red Hat / Fedora user and am pretty new to Debian.
What is the best way to make this modprobe automatic on bootup?
On the Web, I found several references to the file /etc/modprobe.conf,
but I don't have one.
I have the file /etc/modules.conf, but the comments in it say not to
edit it. They direct me to the man page for update-modules.
But the man page for update-modules says that this program is obsolete!
So I defer to those more experienced in Debian admin than I.
